Favorite Destruction

So my favorite type of destruction is when something crumbles on impact. I like how gravity makes the particles fall.


A good example of this type of destruction is in Red Faction, where the character can shoot at buildings and they crumble on impact. Not to mention this awesomely disturbing unicorn gun.

"Barrel" project



For my slot machine, I want the impact to be from a player's vehicle. The handle was supposed to freak out but I couldn't get it to work with the trigger :(

Racing Intro

After some research, I found that Blur 2010 had a racing introduction that I found most appealing. There's the trailer, and then the introduction movie. The trailer could almost count as an intro, and I loved the slow motion shots of the cars flying through the air. The particles and special effects were also really fun to look at up close. The intro movie is just as dramatic with the fast cutscenes and up close action. These both bring up high energy to excite the player and get them pumped. The intro shows some specific cars up close and then far shots so that we can see multiple different cars racing in combat.

"Barrel" idea

So for the object that I want to blow up when a player runs into it, I want it to be a a slot machine. Since the theme of my race is a city/casino in space, I'll try to make some particles that shoot coins when the machine explodes. I'll have the lever spasm out when a player hits it and then it will have a small delay to then go "Boom!"

Welcome to "Nion City", a place where you can escape for some fun from the normal space station activities. But Oh No! A meteor shower has occurred and an evacuation is in progress. You must race to safety from the city. 
This is the vector map of my racing level, and I will start building it soon.
